General Information
Membership of the Scout Association is open to any person, who is prepared to make the Scout promise.
Adult involvement in the Movement is all voluntary, all adults are checked for clearance by the Criminal Records Bureau and have local checks and references taken; before they are allowed to work with young people. As an adult volunteer you are welcome to offer as much, or as little, of your time as you wish. All adults are expected to undertake training appropriate to their role, they are also expected to undertake 5 hours of additional training per year. The formal training is free, and provides all the information required to run meetings, organise camps, manage the section and much, much more.
